![]() Honestly, I do not remember how it fell apart because I watched that movie quite a few years ago. ![]() But, as a whole, I didn't feel that the movie was very consistent and, according to my review, it fell apart in the last 30 minutes. I remember saying in my (very brief) review for that movie (on RottenTomatoes) that it made me look forward to this movie. But, for the interest of fairness, I feel like I should mention that I wasn't exactly the biggest fan of the original xXx. Maybe that's how I perceive it, but I've always felt that Vin Diesel is incredibly passionate about all the franchises that he's helped make famous. He seems like a guy who's far more hands-on than most actors of his ilk when it comes to the properties he is attached to. I don't wanna say that he controls every aspect of what goes into a xXx, Fast and Furious or Riddick movie, but I'm certain that he has SOME sort of control over these franchises and where they should go. Having said that, there's something about Diesel that feels inextricably attached to the franchises that he is a part of. That's not to say that Vin doesn't have his charms or anything of the sort, it's just that The Rock has more of it. ![]() ![]() When put side by side, realistically speaking, the Rock is considerably far more charismatic and is the better actor of the two. Another thing that's interesting is the fact that, while Diesel is a part of the massively successful Fast and Furious franchise, which has got to be a multi-billion dollar property for Universal by now, is he hasn't gone on to enjoy the same box office success outside of the major franchises that he is a part of like The Rock who is, also, a part of the Fast and Furious universe. It should be obvious, to anyone that can see and hear, that the guy isn't the best of actors. Regardless, Vin Diesel is an interesting man to say the least. The review is on Letterboxd and RT so, as a result, I didn't feel like reviewing it again as my thoughts didn't change that much from then until now. If you want a movie that is intelligent and not offensive to literally anyone and everyone, this may not be the movie for you.Not that it matters to most of you, but there wasn't a review yesterday as a result of the fact that it was a repeat of a movie I watched not more than two months ago. I saw an interview where Vin Diesel said he made this movie to be fun and that’s exactly what it is! I am totally watching the other ones now! #noshame P.S. Mix that in with the weirdest editing where you know there shouldn’t be a cut in the scene when it goes to other sequences and low budget effects, you’re in for a good time. Toni Collette who apparently had an Oscar nomination once?). The dialogue is just as poorly constructed. There are so many awful moments I could pull for this review but I don’t want to spoil anything therefore, I will just say in the opening scene, Vin Diesel, using Spanish I had just learned from my third day on Duolingo Spanish, skies in the jungle and then skateboards so fast that there is a fire trail. However, they kept talking about just how awful it was on ScreenJunkies and I was sold. Just goes to show you how important foreign box office is… I never in my life had any intention of seeing the third installment of the Xander Cage franchise, nor did I even know it was a franchise. It completely flopped in the US, I’m pretty sure it was only here for one week, but then made boatloads overseas. Just goes to show you how important foreign box office is… I never in my life had any intention of seeing the I’m willing to say the majority of you haven’t heard of this movie.
